individual adult and teen therapy for trauma, neurodivergence, and parent coaching in Washington State

i’m so glad you found me!

You don’t have to keep holding everything together on your own.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that don’t make sense, or carrying more than you can hold, whether as an individual or a parent, you are not alone. Navigating how to parent a neurodivergent child or managing your own complex trauma can feel like wading through dark waters, unsure of how to help, and totally exhausting. More than that, it can feel really, really scary.

My name is Aysha Melendrez, LSWAIC, and I’m a licensed therapist in Washington State specializing in complex trauma therapy, parent coaching, and play therapy for neurodivergent children. I offer online therapy and parent coaching across Washington State, as well as limited in-person services in Snohomish County. I particularly enjoy working with adults and teens who are motivated for change, BIPOC individuals, and survivors of emotionally absent or abusive parents.

In my sessions and practice, there’s room for silence, rage, grief, and contradiction. Nothing needs to be cleaned up or explained away. I come to sessions as an authentic human and will show up for you with my true thoughts, feelings, and humor. We’ll slow down and listen for what’s happening underneath the stories you tell, then go even further. Together, we’ll explore questions like, “Why do I keep ending up here?” or “Where are these feelings really coming from?”

Because of how important I believe a “good fit” is for therapy, I also offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. I hope to connect with you soon and start walking with you on your path towards healing!

Services

Individual Therapy for Adults

I approach therapy from a relational, psychodynamic lens. Some people come to therapy already knowing exactly what they want to work on, but for some, we might need help figuring out what keeps us feeling so emotionally heavy. Others come to therapy needing a safe container, a space where they can show up fully as themselves without editing or filtering.

I primarily work with adults struggling with the lasting impacts of complex trauma or C-PTSD as well as those struggling with depression and anxiety, challenges with neurodivergence, or ongoing relationship challenges. Whatever your need is, I’m confident we can work together to effect change in your life!

Parent Coaching/Caregiver Support

Put simply, parenting children who struggle with emotional dysregulation, explosive behavior, or neurodivergence is hard. Parents are often trying to navigate challenging interactions, resulting in “walking on eggshells”, constant power battles, or burnout. Unspoken grief, disappointment, or confusion on how to help your child does not need to be the norm.

I have extensive training in various therapeutic modalities when working with children and families, including Child Parent Psychotherapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, PEERS Certified Trainer, behaviorist approaches, and attachment-based interventions. I would love to partner with you to help create the family cohesion that you have always hoped for. Click the link below to learn more

Teen Therapy (13+)

Teens are now navigating one of the most complex and challenging times in history. With the influx of social media and the uncertainty of our economic future, teenagers are facing unprecedented challenges in discovering their place in the world.

For some teenagers, telehealth therapy offers flexibility, particularly for those with busy schedules or those who feel more comfortable in their home environment. If you have a teenager who may be interested in therapy, please reach out to discuss more!
